  1. I can't wait until that day comes for me!
  2. Amen Pakrat. I am with you in the back end department. Looks fast when it's parked. Any word on how many 350's are going into production? I should be able to afford one when I'm ...... 85 years old:wheelchair:...give or take a decade. Of course, I will have to sell my house, the coupe, the tools, the dog, the kids, and my soul to the devil to get behind the wheel of one of those wicked toys.
  3. I know from reading various posts on this website (and many others) that I need to be applying POR15 before paint. Apparently this is THE BEST struff to use. Problem is, I am not sure at which point it needs done, or if there is anything really NEED to know before purchasing or applying it?? Never used the stuff, but have heard nothing but good about it.

  6. I am not a fan of vinyl tops either. I do not have photoshop on my computer. I was wondering if someone could possibly take a convertible and add a hardtop with the same body color as the rest of the car. I can roughly imagine how it would look, but I know that the contours of a convertible top, and a coupe roof are different. I believe the rear sail panel/roof area sticks out a bit further than a convertible top. I am not looking for perfection, but a rough idea of what I can expect would be great. FYI.... I am planning to purchase 69 shelby 5 spoke wheels. Any help would be fantabulous. Thanks fellas.
  7. I am thinking about ordering shelby fenders, grille, tail panel (etc.) for my 69 coupe. However, would like to see what it is going to look like before I jump into this. Anyone seen anything like this? Anyone interested in helping me out?
  8. 69shelbycoupe, It would be great if you could post pics of your build. I have tried to photoshop a shelby coupe, but it just doesn't look right. How far along are you with your build?
  9. Are the repro's plastic or fiberglass? I may just need to do some cutting. Anyone ever constructed a spoiler from scratch? I figured I could build my own with an interior skeleton (reinforced) wrapped in steel or aluminium sheeting of some sort. Much like the way they construct an airplane wing. I want something that is less "attention grabbing" and more subtle. Something that flows well with the body lines and stance of the car. Sure it would be time consuming.... But what ISN'T time consuming when restoring these cars???
  10. Anyone seen a coupe with shelby body parts. I like the coupes, and I like the shelbys. Wondering if anyone has seen a combination of the two??
  11. I am wanting to buy a spoiler for my 69 coupe. I may be alone in my opinion but all the spoilers I have seen look a little too tall (MU, Year one, etc). They look great on the fastbacks but look a little awkward on the coupes. Wondering if anyone has seen a spoiler that has a slightly lower profile or how hard it would be to shorten the vertical arms/pillars to get a sleeker look. I want a car that looks good, and the whole "push-mower" look just doesn't appeal to me.
  12. I am sure you have already done this, but before you go patching it back together, make sure your torque boxes don't need any attention. Mine looked great on the outside, but the insides were not even close to usable. The previous owner did a good job masking the outsides with a rattle can. This area seems to be a consistant problem for these old stangs.
  13. I am assuming you are referring to the toe board and torque box. ?? I recently replaced both on my 69.
  14. What is the advantage of using a fuel tank sump??
  15. Stupid question here....what do you mean by DP prime? The primer in question would only be temporary as I will have a moderate amount of filler work ahead of me. The majority of it will inevitably be removed for a better quality base once the filling is complete. How do the 2 part primers work? Never used them. PS. Thanks for the ultra quick responses fellas.
  16. Question?? I am blasting my car this weekend with a Soda Blaster that we use here at work. The blaster itself is a trailer mounted unit and has a diesel compressor (I work in the Fire/water restoration business. Blaster is used to remove char from joists, floors etc). I have a small window of opportunity this weekend to get the car blasted (due to a break in the cold/wintery weather). Figured I had better get it blasted as it may be my last chance until spring. After blasting the car, I am planning on laying on a coat of primer. My problem is, I don't have an air compressor. The blaster's compressor is FAR too powerful for painting/bodywork. I have recently purchased a gravity fed gun, hoses, etc, but haven't purchased the compressor yet. I am wondering if I need to spray the initial primer with the gun, or is there a good "rattle-can" primer out there I can use?? I am not in love with the idea of rattle canning the car, but I may not have any other choice. I figured I could save up for the compressor, but I don't want to have to wipe down the whole car with mineral spirits ever 2-3 days. Any ideas??:helpsmilie:
  17. That link may not work. If not try this one. http://www.1969stang.com/mustang/forum/showthread.php?t=6992
  18. This one was presented to me courtesey of BuckeyeDemon. Thanks buckeye!! This helped me out a LOT! http://s258.photobucket.com/albums/h...view=slideshow
  19. Thanks buckeye. This should prove very helpful.
  20. Anyone seen a good "how-to" on torque box removal and install?? Never swapped torque boxes and I don't want to screw it up.
  21. Armond, I see you are from Lehi Utah. I live in Missouri now but I grew up in various areas of Utah. Manti, Spring City, Orem, Provo, Park City, born in Ogden. Dad's job took us all over the state. Small world. Thanks for the advice fellas.
  22. Have a buddy that has a pair of seat platforms from a 68 coupe. The platforms are in great condition. Wondering if I can use them in my 69 coupe as I am in need of a new pair and don't want to spend 150 bucks for new. I am sure I could coax them into working with a fair amount of bending/cutting etc. I am wondering if they would need extensive modification to make them fit, or if they will only require slight modification to get them to work? Providing this works, I am assuming that the 69 seats will bolt up to the 68 platforms?? Any help would be appreciated.
  23. Also, I have been noticing a small puddle accumulating under the rear end after each time I push it in/out of the garage. It's a 9''. I haven't done much investigating but I believe it is coming from the front of the diff. Any ideas?
  24. How did you come across that Ford manual? Can I get it online?
