Patriotgamez 14 Report post Posted May 19, 2014 Has anyone had issues with the factory pivot point on a small block when lowering the motor 1/2"? Lowering the engine will change the angle of the Z-bar...when rotated could hit headers or steering components. The only options that I can think of is to modify the arms of the Z-bar, or maybe try to use a big block pivot? I have good clearance now and use the muscle Z-bar with heim joint/spherical rod ends
Cruzzar 22 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 (edited) You could remove the pivot that screws into the block and purchase a engine side pivot that bolts onto the bellhousing (they are made for the late model blocks that have no threaded hole in them for the pivot) and modify it by cutting and rewelding to make it hang down a shorter distance or make one from scratch. This would keep the main shaft of the z-bar horizontal as designed and not shift the other rods out of alignment. Edited May 20, 2014 by Cruzzar
