colbysunday 10 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 So, my hood trim and the trim around the grill on the passenger side are a little a bent. Anybody on here that can make them like new again? The trim replacements I ordered do not match up with the original trim. Or does anyone know of someone or somewhere that I can buy the original trim pieces? Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted February 7, 2014 What car is this on? I had King of Trim restore all my Mach1 bright aluminium trim. They restored everything back to a mirror finish and put the correct anodizing on. They even removed a very large dent in my hood trim.
colbysunday 10 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 This is a '69 Coupe. I would love to get the original restored. How much did it run you?
colbysunday 10 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 It's actually Wimbledon White like your Mach I. Great looking car!
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) Thanks, Its less expensive per part if you send him (Marco) more pieces. I sent him all my Mach1 side trim (6) and the price was $300. A year later the garage door hit my hood trim and he did it for $200. it may seem like allot but the repop is garbage. My trim looks awesome and really pops. colbysunday 10 Report post Posted February 9, 2014 Yeah, he quoted me $500-$600 for the hood trim and grill surround including the bottom. Is that good? Or would I get quoted less if I sent him more?
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted February 9, 2014 My prices were in 2010-11. I don't think you will be quoted less, if you sent him more. The price part price maybe less if you sent him more.
colbysunday 10 Report post Posted February 9, 2014 yeah. I realized that after I posted above. :/
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted February 9, 2014 how many pieces 4 or 7?
colbysunday 10 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 4 I believe.
Alan_Mac 48 Report post Posted February 10, 2014 I edited my post above. It was $300 for the 6 side pieces. Does he know you only want the four front trim pieces refinished not including the three wide back pieces?
