Tgriffin91 27 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 I was going to change the oil in my mustang, since I do not know when it was last done, but in making sure I had everything ready I could not get my breather cap off. This is the type of cap I have an I tried turning it and popping it off but all it did was cut my fingers :( Feels like a silly question, but am I just supposed to pour it through the cotton-type material in the filter? Any tips on how to get this thing off?
Brian Conway 264 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 No. The oil filler cap comes off and the new oil is poured directly into the valve cover filler hole.If you cannot remove the oil filler cap I suggest you remove the valve cover to discover why. Tgriffin91 27 Report post Posted August 9, 2013 Ok that's what I thought! Hmm I'll have to look into that. Maybe I'm just not getting it lined up right. Thanks Brian!
