Trav_450R 10 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) My dad called me while I was at work Thursday and told me about a 69 Coupe he found at a junkyard that I should check out, from what he told me. Its a straight six car, prob a 250. With what looked to be a 3 speed on the floor. Maroon color, I don't think it had a vinyl top. And from my understanding the only panels that need replacing are the quarters... And to top it off, he said the doors opened and closed like they were new! And this guy only wants 800 smackers for it?? Sounds like a HELL of a better buy than that old blue 69 POS coupe I brought home last year! I plan on taking a trip over on Friday to check this car out and then ill post pics! Edited January 21, 2013 by Trav_450R
Max Power 74 Report post Posted January 21, 2013 The second mustang I had was equipped just like that. 250, 3 on the floor and painted Indian Fire Mist. I learned a lot on that car.....
Trav_450R 10 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 Whatever I get, the plan is to do a Junkyard F150 Coyote swap :)
RPM 1,190 Report post Posted January 22, 2013 Sounds like you could buy it sight unseen for $800. Doors alone are worth that. keep us posted.
Trav_450R 10 Report post Posted January 26, 2013 I didn't get a chance to go look at it today, but I picked my dads brain a little more last night... I asked him why exactly "it needs quarters," like what needs replaced the whole quarter panel or just a few spots down by the rockers or what? He said just wheel wells where they normally rust. So from my understanding I can get wheel well patches from CJ Pony Parts just depending on how much of the area needs replaced. So as said above, sounds like I could pretty much buy this thing in the dark and be ok!
Max Power 74 Report post Posted January 27, 2013 When quarters are rusty, so often are floorboards, torque boxes, etc. Buy it in daylight.
