cobra460jet 10 Report post Posted November 5, 2011 I need a new rear package tray. I want be putting speakers in it. There are a few options out there. The fiberboard one and the fiberglass. I also think there is another. I want to stay original or as close looking to original as I can. Also do they come painted black? Does the color match like original (charcoal)? Do you have to paint them? Thanks...
Flanders 46 Report post Posted November 5, 2011 My original one is a bit "tired". I was going to cut a few speaker holes in it and then glue (headliner glue) some black fabric on it. Not quite what you're asking, but in my head I think it'll turn out great.
Desert_69 11 Report post Posted November 5, 2011 Yeah I bought a repro cardboard one, cut 6x9 speaker holes in it and recovered it in black vinyl to match my interior. Not quite original but turned out awesome.
dennyb68 11 Report post Posted November 7, 2011 I mounted my speakers to the bottom of the package tray and the cut slots in the package tray to let the sound out and the covered the package tray with black fabric so it looks almost original and no speakers are seen from the inside of the car and it all worked out great..
