Hey guys new to the forum and looking for advise

Recommended Posts

Hi my name is Jeremy

I have been collecting cars with my dad for a few years. I have a 2002 GT vert mint with very low K. We recently added a 69 fast back to the collection. The down side is its an auto. We are planing to do a T5 swap in the next month.

My question is who's kit would be the better to order. Both have some parts that will be needed above and beyond the kit, but are fairly complete and priced close. One factor maybe the shipping as I'm in the Toronto Canada area. So if there are any members that are in the great white north and have orderd similar stuff from either of these suppliers can you give me a clue.

Kit #1

Kit #2

This kit would be orderd with most of the common selections.

Thanks in advance

Jeremy

Well I haven't used any of these kits so I can't comment. Others have and hopefully they will chime in. But, have you considered the AOD option? That way you don't have to cut up your transmission tunnel to install a modern 5 or 6 speed manual. Bruce

Keisler is another one and they offer a complete 5 & 6 speed conversion kits. They have just recently introduced their own transmission design that is US made in their own factory ... supposedly requires no cutting for most applications. I believe they also still offer T5 & Tremec based kits as well.

Worth looking into anyway.

I am definitely keeping my eye on this one. I am a little nervous about a "new" transmission on the market, but the whole setup looks pretty good.

I have been dealing with National Parts Depot (NPD) in Ocala, FL. I actually travel there each year and bring back the heavier parts rather than pay for shipping. If you are looking for stock parts, I have a contact north of Toronto who parts out Mustangs and Cougars. Jusr send me a Private Message (PM), by clicking on my avatar and I can provide you his information.

Me too ... been debating swapping out my top-loader for years and had gotten quotes from Keisler as well as others 5 years ago or so but could just not justify the expence. Been on Keisler's mailing list ever since and this new trans really caught my attention.
