StephenC 10 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 Recently replaced all the locks on my 69 Stang and I just actually drive it today for the first time. Any ways the door is unlocked and from the outside it wont open the button was stuck at first and now it just keeps pushing in and wont open but you can open it from the inside. Any thought on what to check?
foothilltom 33 Report post Posted February 18, 2010 You're going to want to remove the door panel and take a peak inside. It sounds like you already had your panels off to do the locks, so you already know how to do that. More than likely, the latching mechanism from the handle is gummed up or has somehow become disconnected from the little rod that actually opens the door. It's pretty simple once you're staring at it. If everything looks "connected", you may just need to clean up the various linkages and perhaps put a bit of white lithium grease on there (but not too much as it collects dirt).
