Stroked302 10 Report post Posted November 6, 2009 Hello, looking for some help please! 70 mustang fastback - key is stuck and won't slide out? It's positioned between Off and Accessory (second click) so I can start and turn it off fine. Tried everything to take out the key ignition switch. Any suggestions Thanks Andy
Ricks 70 stang 13 Report post Posted November 7, 2009 I'm not sure what it is called. On the steering column at the engine compartment there is a arm that swingsback and forth. Supposed to be hooked to the transmission I believe. You might try to move it and see if that allows you to turn key off. I had this problem and it worked for me. Just a suggestion. 69RestoRod 10 Report post Posted November 7, 2009 On a manual car it has to be in reverse to get the key out. I'm sure it's got to be in park on an auto, In the engine bay there is a collar around the steering column that connects to the transmission to make sure it's in the proper gear. Someone may have disabled yours and now it's fallen into the locked postion.
