Hedman 1 5/8 Shorty Header Clearance?

Just wondering if anyone is using these and if you have any clearance issues with the original clutch linkage or any other clearance issue?

I have the same headers. There is no clearance issues on the sides. I am running a cable clutch so I never looked to see how much room there is for linkage.

I recently took off a set from my car. With the stock Z bar linkage, I had to "modify" the tube closest to the firewall. I had to pound it in about 1/4" for about 3" of the tube. I got my Hedman shortys from Summit Racing back in 2000. Part# HED-88650-6 If you're interested, I'll sell you mine for $50.00. They already clear the linkage. They are ceramic coated, but after 7 yrs. of use, they are a dull silver instead of being bright and shiny.

I didn't enjoy beating on my brand new headers, but thats what it took to clear the equalizer bar. I now have a hydraulic clutch and clearance isn't an issue.

:001_huh: Darn! I have already ordered on the advice of one the reps on email. He said they should be ok, even after I noted that their ad said may have to modify due to the linkage. :huh:

 

 

I dont mind the dulling.... I could have wrapped in header wrap or something.
