pikk 10 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 I'm planning to buy new wheels and tires to my 69 fastback. i'm thinking to go for WHEEL ELEANOR-STYLE 454 17"x 8" 65/73 (ULTRA) with PZERO NERO 235/55R17 PIRELLI tires. Does anybody have experience if they fit to my car. I mean maybe 17" with 55 tires are too big? i have bad experiance with my Jaguar XJS - I also changed from 15" wheel to 17" and they were little too big. 69fstback 10 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 Hello On ebay i bought the eleanor wheels at 17x8 on the front and 17x9 on the back. the back tire is a 275/40/17 and front is a 235/40/17. Front backspaing was 4.5 back was 5.0 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

SELLERSRODSHOP 13 Report post Posted June 8, 2008 The tire you refer to is 27.1" tall. i had 27.4" tall tires on mine when i bought it & had serious rubbing issues up front when turning. the tires's diameter was so tall that it hung up on the front valence. i would look at maybe a 235 or 245 in the 50 series. should give you a decent "cushion" & still have plenty of clearance.
