Instrument Cluster conversion question

I saw the conversion done with Auto Meter gauges that were 2 5/8" on the two sides. My question is, since i like the design of the Designer Black series and they only offered in 2 1/16" would i be able to use these? Has anyone used this size gauges for the two outter ones? i am also going to install two under the ashtray where the center console meets. i think its the shelby gauge pod which holds two 2 1/16" gauges perfect.
