Thesubhumans 10 Report post Posted October 13, 2006 Hey, i'm going to start replacing th D/S rear frame rail and maybe the P/S rear frame rail on my '69 coupe next week and had a few questions. First of all, i know the drivers side frame rail is toast, but the passengers side only seems to be rotted through in one part of the frame in a corner, would i be able to make a patch for this or will it hinder structural integrity of the frame? Would i just be better of getting a new rail? At $350 CDN a piece i'd rather make a patch. When i replace the drivers side i'm going to be doing the whole rail because it looks like swiss cheese, how do i get the alignment correct? are there measurements that i can get somewhere? Also am i going to have to cut in any other metal, like the rear torque boxes because it's all new metal and i would rather not butcher it up. If you have any other advice i would really appreciate this because i have never done anything like this beforeh
69_302RustangFB 10 Report post Posted October 13, 2006 For the drivers side search arround for a better deal. As far as the passanger side if just a section of it is bad you should be able to get a replacement for just that section instead of paying for another full frame rail and save some money.
