stang-fan69 10 Report post Posted October 8, 2006 Hello Is there a company that offers a reproduction of the original brake distribution block & proportioning valve for factory power disc brakes. See item "B" in the following pic:
bnickel 10,004 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 i'm not aware of anyone making repro's but i believe you can rebuilt original units from NPD and Year one and probably most of the other major suppliers as well. check with SSBC, i'm sure they probably have them available. also if you still have your original it ought to be easy enough to clean up and re-use. there aren't any wear parts inside it and no seals to speak of either, just some fittings and a check ball. 351carlo 10 Report post Posted October 9, 2006 I know I was young and dumb when mine went bad... I just replaced my proportioning valve with some adjustables and some residuals that did the job. Like bnickel said though, the inside pieces are normally what throw everything out of whack. There is an odd shaped ''check'' valve that is what does the distributing of pressure, which can get pushed to one extreme or the other causing the valve to fail. There is a writeup online somewhere of how to fix this, and I'll see if I can't dig it up.
