What can you tell me about this Mustang?

Recommended Posts

I have found a 1969-70 Mustang, just curious to know if it actually a Mach 1 or just a wannabe? Can anyone help me?

What is the actual year of this car?

First, I need to have the serial number disected or decoded.

What model is this car, I haven't seen this body style around before?

Also, does this car have a 351 in it or not?

Have lots of photos available?

Here's the vin number:

I believe you may have a 73 mustang, the 3 at the beginning of the vin you listed should be the second digit of the year of the car model. So unless you have the wrong vin on there...... Look up some pics of 73 mustang models and see if your car looks like some of them.

I believe your car is a sportsroof (fastback) which is the model they make into a mach 1, but yours is just a standard (still very nice though). Also, the car originally came with a 302 2 barrel.

I'm a little rusty on these codes, so you may want a second opinion, but I'm pretty sure this is what your dealing with, I'll post a link to a pic of what I think you're car should look like.

1973 mustang (first digit is a 3, corresponds to the year)

Dearborn plant (second digit is F, corresponds to plant)

Fastback (third and fourth digit is 02, corresponds to body style)

351 2-V (fifth digit is an H, corresponds to motor size and carb)

remaining numbers is the sequential code, which is the sequential number that the car was ordered and not necessarily made).
