Brake lights on all the time

What would cause the brake lights to stay on all the time?

A problem with the brake light switch. It may have simply failed, or for some reason it's not being allowed to return to the "open" (disconnected) position. That's were I'd start looking....

pretty much anytime the brake lights stay on all the time is because of a bad brake light switch.
