Strut Rod bushing removal

How do you get the strut rod bushings off? I would have thought they just slipped on to the strut rod but they seem to be completely impossible to remove even after I have pulled the strut rod out.

nevermind I just cut it off

It was a piece of cake. Had to pry a lot with a heavy duty big screwdriver but the two halves finely came apart. It helps to soak them alot.
