:detective: Hey Gang,

Just thought I'd let you know that I put a few new progress pics up in my gallery. I've got tons more pics to file thru and sort but I had these handy on my work computer. Fortunately I have been way too busy doing actual work on the car to get around to these kinds of follow ups.

Spring is in the air!

Well, not exactly, those pics are several weeks old now. At this momment the entire car has been media blasted already and as of today likely primed and baking. I'll try to snap some current pics when I drop by tomorrow at lunch to escort my engine block home for stripping and painting. :taz:

looks like some good work they're doing. At the front of the (drivers?) door, that pic specifically, but it looks like all the gaps are pretty even. Nice work, it'll all be for the best in the end, like Lee Majors it'll emerge better, stronger, faster . . .

Fastback: Technically they are not covering anything since they chose to total it on me. I'm just glad that since NH does not require a title and my current one is from Massachusetts that it won't have a salvage title. Between the property damage offer, the buy back price and the personal injury settlement I got a little over 30k from them to do with as I will and I took about 5k out of my bonus last year and added that to it as well. Becasue the body guy is a friend of a friend he is working on it as his schedule allows and also letting me do as much of the work/tear down/ what have you on my own to save additional money. I should actually come out under budget when all is said and done.

70Vert: Yeah thanks, he really has done great work I think, he has 3 60's camaro's of his own (all appraised in the high 40's). Although we ordered full skins he is trying to retain as much of the original car as humanly possible. He really could have used a full quarter if one was available. I can't believe how well he ironed out the top surface that meets the trunk, it was like an accordian. Funny too how even though the passenger side got hit, the car was bent so bad that once I opened the drivers door to get out it fricken tore apart and of course couldn't possibly close again. It'll cost me but he cares about the details alot. It felt so good just to barely nudge the door again and hear it click and lock.

It would be interesting to see where you fall on your budget. You lucked out on the title. I've got my car in now having the inner aprons and passenger shock tower replaced. Plus having some frame work done for around 3500.00. Course had to do some motor work since its out of the car.

Yeah, water does run down hill doesn't it. What started to out as just a fix and repaint led me to redoing the bay and the engine and basically every part that used to be good enough for a driver but now I need to redo or replace just so it's all up to par.

I intend to use up about all the money no matter what, I've already picked up quite a few unplanned things. Even if I go out of pocket more and exceed the cars value I don't care. The way I see it, the 30k is all found money and not really mine. In my mind my personal investment will always be just the original purchase price from way back when and any out of pocket I have spent over the years and up to date. The value will surely exceed that much so........

Hehe more like a gully washer or a flood. I thought I was just going to replace a shock tower but shop came back and said 'lets just replace the front clip' so I'm headed out of town this weekend and trailing back half a car. Good news is I get better torque boxes which saves me 2 grand. Shop said yep its been hit hard in a couple places. I thought they were going to do the same thing on mine as they did yours, cause the frame didn't look that bad but I guess it was.
