Reprodution Quarters

Recommended Posts

I am starting a restoration project of my 1969 fastback. I was wondering if anyone can tell me where is the best place to find Quarters that fit the best. Original quarters are hard to find and exspensive. Is there any out there that fit and look like original equipment but won't damage the wallet?

This is the company that makes the best repro stuff:

Be careful with the quarter skins. Many times they are a little longer than the original quarter. You just leave the original front and rear edges on the car and use the quarter skin in between.

There is now a correct 69 full quarter panel on the market. Here's a link:

I thought that Scott Drake made this part as well, but its not on his website. I haven't put the full quarter on my car yet, but the word is that it's a good fit.

Good Luck

Most of the repro quarter skins do not have the correct rear lower lip and it can be a headache to weld in if that area is rusted pretty badly. I've heard good things with the full repro panels but they are not that easy on the wallet at around $400. But, if you are paying someone to install them it would save you in the long run if it fits much better. Bodymen aren't cheap and it takes twice as long to install a poorly fitting one than a well fitting one.
