*JackBurton* 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 I'm not sure what type of pulley system I want to run on my 351w. I do know that a stock ford serp system is out. Here's what I'm looking at. 1) stock v-belt setup. Alternator/water pump for now. Paint the brackets and get some nice pulleys for it. 2) March serp kit. Add the power steering part later. I like the March idea because the have a kit that uses a saginaw pump. I have the same pump on my bronco. I don't know if I like the price tag on it. Are there any other options that I'm missing? Any advice would be great.
JC69Stang 0 Report post Posted July 23, 2005 I have the march alt. brackets with FMS pulleys, they look nice but aren't that great IMO. I wound up switching the alt pulley back to a smaller one for charging issues and the brackets mount the alt way up high in front of the valve cover. Check out Rousch, they have the coolest brackets I have seen for that so far.

I think so, look at the crate motors on the roush performance site and see all the engines have that trick alt bracket setup. The jegs link is this. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/ProductDisplay?prrfnbr=428504&prmenbr=361 You get a side view of it on the Roush site, it is a V-belt from the looks of it and much better than the March setup I have. I am getting a digital camera tonight so I will get some new pics of my car real soon. the Roush link here http://www.roushparts.com/pdf/402IR_stacked_400.jpg
JC69Stang 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2005 You can go to my cardomain site and check out the next to last pic on page 2 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/958894/2 It shows how high the alt is mounted with the March setup, and those are the tall valve covers! It would look horrible with normal height valve covers IMO. Also ignore the wiring, I am not done there yet... :D
