Brackets vbelts march kits etc. What do you run?

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure what type of pulley system I want to run on my 351w. I do know that a stock ford serp system is out. Here's what I'm looking at.

1) stock v-belt setup. Alternator/water pump for now. Paint the brackets and get some nice pulleys for it.

2) March serp kit. Add the power steering part later.

I like the March idea because the have a kit that uses a saginaw pump. I have the same pump on my bronco. I don't know if I like the price tag on it.

Are there any other options that I'm missing? Any advice would be great.

I have the march alt. brackets with FMS pulleys, they look nice but aren't that great IMO.

I wound up switching the alt pulley back to a smaller one for charging issues and the brackets mount the alt way up high in front of the valve cover.

Check out Rousch, they have the coolest brackets I have seen for that so far.

Are those pulley's from Roush performance v-belts? i found a setup at jegs but couldn't find anything on the Roush performance website.

I think so, look at the crate motors on the roush performance site and see all the engines have that trick alt bracket setup.

The jegs link is this.

You get a side view of it on the Roush site, it is a V-belt from the looks of it and much better than the March setup I have.

I am getting a digital camera tonight so I will get some new pics of my car real soon.
