Anyone have a vacuum schematic for a '69 mustang 250

Recommended Posts

Hi, all,

I Just got my Autolite 1101 back from Pony Carburetor, and am trying to set timing and Idle for the first time. Think I have a vacuum leak, and am not sure if all the lines are run correctly.

Have a '68 shop manual (no 250 of course), and haven't gotten a '69 one yet.

Schematic or any tips for a relative newbie on setting idle are appreciated.

Thanks!

Posted this on Mustangsix as well.

Update - have to send the carb back, as it randomly starts leaking into the venturi, causing the car to stumble, and the gas to leak from the overtravel lever at the carb base.

I'll check my shop manuals for one tonite and scan it tomorrow if I find it.

Curious, what do you know about you car? It would appear that it hand some grande details at one point but I did not think you get a grande with a six. Have you ever decoded the VIN and door tags to see if it matches up with what you have?

It is weird, Pakrat,

It's an original-paint car (rusted along the bottom of the quarters, though), and I, too, thought it strange that it had the hood-scoop, Grande stripe and Vinyl top, but plain Jane interior, 250 and 5-spoke plain hubcaps.

Here's what I got from CodeCracker:

CodeCrackerâ„¢ results for 9F01Lxxxxxx

model year: 1969

built at: Dearborn (Dearborn, MI)

bodystyle: Hardtop

engine: 250 CID - 1V

body series: Hardtop - standard-trim bucket seats

scheduled assy.: May 7, 1969

exterior color: "Lime Gold"

interior trim: (Low-back seats) Dark Ivy Gold vinyl

sales office (DSO): Kansas City, KC ("KL")

axle ratio: 2.79:1 "conventional"

transmission: Unk. code - check entry

they were probably dealer added, however you could get the scoop and vinyl top on otherwise plain jane cars so it's possible that only the stripes were dealer added or even added by a previous owner. BTW that's pretty much exactly the way my car should look. same color, hood scoop (mine has hood pins included in the gt package) black vinyl top except my car had the gt stripes as well.
