  1. Just a quick note - project has crept down to a grinding halt due to my work schedule and 'fundage' reallocated for other items....

hopefully the project will pick back up in July at the least...:scared:

it could be worse ... i could not have a job to conflict... :tongue_smilie:

  2. interesting thread... so any of the additives is just added insurance if we are running retro hyd roller setups etc.... :whistling:

i will preach for a moment, i had two instances where i am convinced that mobil1 synthetic saved the motor in my 96 Cobra.

    1) bad oil filter seal - pumped out all of the oil at one time...from the motor after @80 miles after an oil change. (no i didn't change it-- one of the few times)

had it towed home, replaced the oil filter and oil myself.. no problems.. no damage.

    2) bad oil cooler adapter (factory) pumped all the oil into my radiator.

had the oil cooler sandwich adapter replaced. water system flushed. replaced oil.. mobil1 no damage.

  4. Shaun at street or track now has a kit to mount the cobra calipers on disk spindles, check him out. I just did this on my 69 Torino that had factory front disks. Certainly not low buck but it works.

finally ... i have factory power disc brakes ... wanted to upgrade to bigger rotors and cobra calipers.. maybe now i can. hmm.. looks like ill need to get rid of my 16x8 mini lite replicas from vintage wheel works if i do..

  6. lol.... off topic ...ok time for a story.... i rebuilt my PS valve ... took photos before i did to make sure i replaced the hoses correctly. everything went great ... took my time.. went back together perfect .. no extra parts.. :tongue_smilie: ..had the car on stands... got the wife to see how easy it was to turn the wheel lock to lock.... shut the motor off... took it off jackstands ... fired it up ... and almost lost an arm.... steering wheel turning lock to lock by itself as fast as it could.... shut it down... changed my pants ... developed the photos ... couldnt tell they were blury.. found one of my mustang buddies .. and he laughed for a few minutes... then said... reverse the hoses back.

i did .. and it drove great.. thought you would enjoy a laugh.

I need a picture of the p/s lines going to/from the power assist valve!! This valve is new and the gear box is new, EVERYTHING is new and it drives like crap!! memory steer and it does NOT return to center! thinking that maybe lines are wrong?? lol

has alignment. Flaming river gearbox installed TODAY.

thought it would fix it... So Its this one last thing before I take it to a place in Mustang, OK to try to get them to figure it out but I hate to leave the car anywhere!

thanks guys and please pics or diagram asap.

  8. agreed .. my shock towers already had some stress cracks from the stock 351W.... i knew one day i wanted to put a higher hp motor .. so i supported for whatever i may do.

1BAD351 - as for installing it with the engine installed.... i remember the welds around the driver side shock tower under the proportioning valve at the shock tower being tight.

That's the same kit I got and installed I can now put whatever powerplant I want in my car with no worries about the shocktowers

  10. wow... almost ... suburb of nahunta... trudie:tongue_smilie:

I'm not afraid of carbs as they are fairly simple, but Fuel Injection can do so much more for fuel economy and driveability. You see plenty on 5.0's and 351W's but I'd like to see something affordable for a 351C also.

Note to "stangme428": You over in the Nahunta region? :shifty:
