  1. Thanks guys, appreciate your input. Sounds like coil-overs may be the way to go. Is there anything wrong with just replacing the spring with the original stock length, and perhaps going with progressive springs? Excuse me for asking, but do the coil-overs supplement the existing spring, or do you still need to take out the spring and install the coil-over in its place?
  2. Hi, I'm new to the Mustang world. I recently purchased a 1969 Mustang Grande with a 390 and hooker headers and am having a problem with header/pavement clearance. The previous owner installed CS8330 front springs, but had one coil removed to lower the car to a ride height of 26". As a result, if I hit a big enough dip in the road, the front of the car will dip down and I end up scraping the headers on the pavement. The car has an Edlebrock aluminum intake manifold, and is an original A/C car which has been removed. It has P215/70R14 tires up front, P245/60R14 tires in the rear. I can't go with larger front ties because there is not much clearance between the tire and the wheel well lip. I would like to change out the front springs to gain some ground clearance and am wondering which way to go. I am thinking of either installing new, uncut CS8330 springs again, installing some other constant rate spring, or possibly going with XXXX progressive rate springs. Alternatively, I was thinking of installing stiffer shocks to better control the spring action. Unfortunately, I don't know the brand of the shocks that are installed right now, though when I do a front bounce test, the car does not bounce more than about 1 time, so I think that the current shocks are not shot. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brian
