  1. Another brake ?. There was a thin foam like gasket between the firewall and the mounting bracket for the booster and another between the mounting bracket and the booster. These 2 foam gaskets disintegrated when removed and the new parts didn't come with them. The parts store was no help. They suggested making them. Do these thin foam gaskets need to be there and if so do I just make them out of some similar foam?

  3. never mind, just went with it, booster is out, not to difficult once you remove the steering column. just going to replace it also now that its out. its only money

So I'm replacing my master cyl, power front disc brakes, and the master cyl wont come out because it won't clear the shock tower. my chilton manual says you can remove it without removing the power booster, but i'm thinking otherwise. don't really want to take out the booster if i don't need to. anyone of you guys know the answer to this problem?

  8. That was a pretty sweet deal on that tcp rack, I probably would have purchased it also. The thing that sold me on randalls rack was the pump. The tcp uses that remote reservoir and I wasn't to wild about that. Randalls also seemed a little easier to install and it wasn't hard. I put tcp's front coilover kit on mine so thier rack would have been sweet on there also. I also would love one of thier g-bar kits in the back but may just go with their reverse eye leaf settup and will definately install subframe connectors. Can't wait but my funds are low now. You're right about your coug, I could,nt cut on it either.
  9. Went with power. Thats the only way Randalls comes, I think. If you want to drive the car somewhere other than a track, power is the way to go. I purchased randalls pump also, it's a nice unit. If you can ever afford a rack, you won't be sorry.
  10. WOW. Drove my fastback today for the first time since I installed a Randalls rack and pinion. It is like driving a different car. No more slop in the steering at all. The install was pretty easy. I think it was money well spent. Everyone on here should do themselves a favor and upgrade to a rack/pinion, I don't think you'll be sorry.
  11. I live in portland and have been to the swap meet quite a few times and am usually disappointed that camaros and chevelles out number mustangs about 25 to 1. Fun place but better for the chevy guys.

  13. The total control street kit is $675 or $775 for the rotor and caliper depending on the caliper you choose.
  14. Installing the sway bar on my 69, the hole for the end link in the lower arm and the hole in the sway bar dont line up well. The sway bar is adjusted as far forward as the brackets will allow. The end link leans toward the rear of the car at an angle that seems a bit extreme. The angle makes it almost impossible to get the nut on the end link bolt. Is that normal? Should the 2 holes line up so the end link is straight up and down? The sway bar is a 15/16 off of a 70 boss 302.
  15. Any of you guys have any experience with total controls street version (thats the cheapest and smallest diameter version) front and rear disc brake upgrade? They are reasonably priced, half of their performance street version and about half of most other upgrades. The fronts increase the track width by 3/4" on each side which may cause problems with backspacing when I purchase new wheels, but seem like they might still be much better than the stock front disc/rear drum set up. I'm only interested in an upgrade at this time because I just installed their front coilover suspension kit and the stabilizer bracket on the caliper hits the lower shock bolt before the spindle hits the steering stop. Also just installed a randalls rack and pinion system (can't wait to drive this baby now)so my mustang money is very low at this time. Thats why I like the price of that upgrade. So I need to address this problem soon. Any other suggestions to solve that problem economically would be appreciated and thanks for your help.:helpsmilie:
