Thanks. I will look at that. Tranny tunnel mod no prob!

Thanks guys. I will not be racing it. So it will not take the load very often. I guess your right anyway, might as well put some $$$ into it.

Cheap $250 local pickup (you arrange shipping). Block has two cylinders with wrist pin gouges. Crank has one journal where the rod bearing spun, but not too bad. Trans looks good, with flex plate and torque converter. No gaurentee of working condition. Offers accepted. Photos to follow.

Anyone have a good suggestion for a 5 speed on a 600-800HP 351W? One refurbished is best so I don't spend too much. Thanks.
-
Amazing build! I hope mine looks that good!
-
Thanks!
-
I have the automatic tranny too.

the block is still available. Backward 105. Two cylinders have wrist pin gouges. You arrange for shipping and it is yours.
-
Anyone know what 5 speed would be good for this without breaking the bank?
-
Ditched the 390FE, and going with a stroked and bored 351W (427 cobra). New progress pictures, and getting ready for the Mustang II front suspension.

Bob, no it does not drop that far. I think you are spot on. The clips are spring clips.
-
I did not find the clip parts, which leads me to believe they were not put in.
Thanks.

Bob,
Yes sir. Two clips were either not put in, or they fell out. Asking the experts, is there a way to keep this from happening in the future?
Thanks

Here is what the car looked like off the assembly line in 68' Finished on 31 Oct 1968. I guess I have "Christine."

Looks like I got myself a 63C, according to the Marti report!
-
Thanks Jim, I will check that out.

Looks like sleeves are in my future.

Engine is out. A little surface rust on two of the cylinder walls. Pistons look great. Tranny is in very good shape.

you bet.

Thanks! Between 500-650 (crank), any higher and I will need a new rear end (working with a low gear 8" for now). Just going to take it easy on my first build in 20 years. Yes, that is the paint code on the Marti report (also a 63C), and it is under a few layers of crappy paint. Probably go with a dark gray. I am doing a resto-mod, since none of the numbers match anywhere. Frame is a 70 (guess the 69 totally rusted out). Top a 69 (VIN) Original are quarters, fenders, interior, roof, cowl.
