  1. Hey guys, Soo im getting a little bored with the 331 stroker and want a little more power. Was debating on building a 408, but I've been really getting into turbos latley. My daily is a 1999 saab 9-3 with a holset hx35, once its spooled, it SKOOTS! I've gotten to the point that my daily is more fun to drive hahaha. So im looking to to do a single turbo setup on a blow through carb. Here's the specs on the motor... 331 stroker all forged internals( I beams, KB forged pistons, Forged crank) with a 40 over block 190cc procomp heads that had quite a bit of work done 10.5 cr 600 Holley (1460) Headers Weiland intake Rolling thunder cam (.576 int and .584 exh give or take a few) Msd 3200 tci street fighter converter 3.73 posi (8.8 out of 92' explorer) Rev limited at 6500 I was wondering... 1). I'm not familar with single turbos on a v8.. Are they powered by one bank or two? 2). Are there any good kits available that will fit? I'll probably be relocating the battery to the trunk and get a slim electric fan also.. 3). Should i run e85 or just keep 91 and dial back timing? e85 is easily accessible in my area and this is not a daily. 4). I know i will need to run oil/coolant lines.. Is anyone familiar with this? There might be more questions later but thanks ahead of time!

  3. Hey guys, new here just wanted to post my progress somewhere. Bought the car 12/7/11 when i was about 16 for 800$. Building the car on min wage is pretty tough so its been a long process, but has came a long way. Its been my dream car since i was a kid, always thought they were the end all. Father raced a lot in bracket racing with a 68 firebird 400, so he's been teaching me the ropes. No mommy and daddy money here though so had to cut corners where i could :). The engine: 331 stroker all forged internals bored 40 over procomp aluminum heads 60cc 190 runners ported and polish with a good amount of work done to them Rollin thunder cam .576 lift int and .584 exh (If i remember correctly) MSD stuff Weiland stealth intake Ebay 1 3/4 headers 600 cfm holley (Going to rebuild a 650 demon soon) probably missing stuff Trans: Recently blew it up at irwindale (stock C4) Transpack I have it in pieces in the garage at the moment putting together the broader performance 500+ HP kit 3200 TCI street fighter converter Deep pan Trans cooler Drivetrain: Car originally came with 2.70 8 inch, so i took a ford explorer 8.8 3.73 posi and re-positioned the spring perches, works great! Even used the aluminum drive shaft :) and took a yoke from a fox body Mickey Thompson Et radials 235s Suspension: NONE! So much hop and wrap! Ill post some pics on the dents in the tunnel... Going to run some Summit Racing drag shocks 3 ways and lake wood slappers ( dont wanna drop almost 400 for caltraks) I'm in college right now for premed so i don't have a lot of time to fiddle ( or pay for stuff) at the moment so its just sitting in the garage waiting for summer. It should be able to hit 11s in the quarter.
  4. Hey everyone! I was wondering whats a good set of headers for a 331 Stroker? I have a set I got on eBay but the tube diameter is tiny and seems to be restricting the flow And also does anyone know a good rear suspension set up that is good for the strip and does ok if I was to auto cross? Ive heard caltraks with moni leafs and some 4 links
