seen a article a while back somewhere about dissolving plastic and then using it fix the affected area, i have repaired door panels out of 1/2 tons using a small soldering torch, for the pattern i try to find something that is rough, a piece of wood on the end grain works, heat up the plastic and apply lots

Hey selder, looks like yours is leaking as much as mine, i noticed the same picture on all ford mustangs. this looks like something worth checking into. i cant recall if i changed the seals or not on my trans before.
let me know by sending a PM if you notice anything and or take some pics :D

my friend and I were discussing trying to weld rods on to the doors and trunk lid where the gaps are too large. This damn trunk is nuts one side it perfect and lines up just at the top of the trun opening, and the other side is about 1/2" above the damn tail light holes...really pissing me off and i cant get it to get right.
Mike
i had quarters put on my 69 GT350, the big thing is alignment of door, fenders to begin with before you replace quarters, it has been a long time since my autobody days, i farmed it out to my autobdy friend and the quarters fit amazing.
i may do my 66 coupe but not the GT350
ifyou are having to much of a gap, something seems to be out somewhere

usually any vehicle i acquire i change all the fluids out in engine, trans, diff. this helps to see if their are any particles chunks of any wear
worse thing i have found in a driver was a loose crown gear bolt in the diff
sounds like a cool car you are getting

the last few issues of mustang monthly had a guide about glue in, there was some sort of jig a guy made to help align the windows, i think the glue was silicone

i used to turn the engine over by the crank to 6-8 degrees at timing indicator, also had a clear distributor cap with only the #1 plug wire hooked up to a spark plug, turn ignition on and turn distributor till plug sparks, tighten down and fires most of the time.
you dont need the clear cap, but nice to see where you are at.

well some atf in the fuel might have done the trick, let it idle half hour, then took out for a rip, 90 mph, and a few 5000 rpm bursts, seems way better, vacuum bounces a touch but not as much.
will check for vacuum leaks with some water

have a 390 with a mild cam, last nite was first nite i took it for a drive, except for some moving around in the garage.
getting some backfires, popping, and vacuum gauge is bouncy
so if it is sticking any remedies
have heard, some ATF in the fuel might help
if its bent, then the fun begins

see if you can get a clear inline plastic filter, also for the stuck distributor, use some penetrating fluid, and a rubber hammer or strap wrench
