I am missing a lot of pictures during the metal repair due to a crashed hard drive, but here are some progress pictures that I have

I have had my 1969 Mach 1 since I was 15 (almost 12 years). My father and I finished restoring the car when I was 17. I drove the car a few thousand miles before parking in to upgrade the suspension and engine. After taking a lot of the car apart, my busy life kicked in and I never got around to finishing the car. Fast forward to this month, I am finally able to get back to work on the car. Should have it finished within 2 months or so. The car has been sitting inside for years, worked on very little here and there. My dad has painted show cars for nearly 30 years and we both did every bit of the work to this car. Most of the floor pans and sheet metal are original except for the typical areas, and every inch of the car has been coated with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. I have now decided to go the Pro-Touring route with the car. I make more than I did when I was 17 and now have a little more time to really do the car the way I want. The paint will still be flawless after a little buffing so its just time to re-do the interior, suspension, finish the engine and upgrade the wheels. Here is the timeline of the car: Here is the car when I first got it after I started stripping the paint. Obviously, the previous owner decided to things a little differently with the car. Its originally supposed to be Candle Apple Red, Black Deluxe Interior, 351W 2BBL, FMX. Tan vinyl was stapled over everything and most of the original Mach 1 stuff was gone.

I talked to a guy over at CCW and he also told me I could run an 18x11 with a 295. I have just never seen it done myself. I need to just do the measurements

I have thought about it long and hard. I don't need it, but in my opinion, the fold-down rear seat is one of the coolest features is a fastback mustang, and I want to keep that in place. I'm rather have slightly skinnier wheels than ditch the fold down...i think

I've thrown this option into the mix now. They are Fikse 3 piece and are only $300 more. Sorry for posting a Camaro

Wow that looks good. I'll be pulling my Mach out of storgae within the week so I'll do the measurements to see if I can accomplish the fold down and still fit 18x11's with a 1" tub or so. You said the bolts are in the back; so its a 3 piece? TF told me they could not do a 3 piece with the stepped lip.

Those look awesome. They look just like the Mach 5, but you say they are called Sleeper? Besides the lip, what is the difference? Did he mini tub? Do you have any more pictures? I like the lip like that, I think I just like the stepped lip better. Thanks! Yes it is a Boss 429 scoop molded to a stock metal 69 hood. Its bonded on so well that the hood can me lifted up by the scoop alone. I used the same type of bonding materials used to bond together corvettes. I have thought about black centers, but I already have Boze forged 5 spoke 18" wheels in black on my 94, and didnt want it to look like I used the same wheel on both cars. I plan to polish the lip on these or do a red pin stripe around the black lip when the 94 is back up and running. What billet GT wheels are you thinking of? Are you talking about the Magnum 500's? Steve over at True Forged said he liked my car so much he is throwing in custom engraved Mach 1 center caps :yes:

I've seen the magnum 500 replica. I like it but I want a little more custom look to the car. I think the stepped lip just gives it that classic look rather than the smooth deep dish.

Hey guys, I've been a member on here for awhile but I have not really posted much. I am finishing up my Mach 1 this summer and need an opinion on wheels. It has air ride and I am trying to squeeze 18x10-11's on the back with an 18x8 on the front. I an doing brushed centers polished stepped lips instead on the standard reversed lip stainless assembly bolts. Here are my 2 options. Which would you pick if price was the same? Option 1: True Forged Mach 5 Option 2: IForged Variant (the wheels on the red car are actually HRE but have the stepped lip and same style as the IForged Variant) Here is the car
