  1.

Upgrades I would like to tackle while she is down - not in order:

    1) Replace gauges with Autometer in OEM location – except leave tach on pillar

    2) Replace intake manifold, valve cover, and oil pan gaskets

    3) Find solution to keep quarters rolled – possibly weld lips up

    4) Remove electric fuel pump and replace with OEM style

    5) Try to find a better electric fan/shroud that covers more of radiator

    6) Replace tail lights with LED

    7) Replace rear seat with fold down

    8) Replace whole ignition system (distributor, etc.)

    9) Replace rear louvers with OEM style

    10) Add hood scoop emblems

    11) Replace drivers door glass with bolt in (passenger side already done)

    12) Move front seat back further and replace with different style – possibly Fiero and Mr. Mikes

    13) Change out steering wheel with a Moto-Lita

    14) Change out all wood grain panels for painted or "mild" Carbon Fiber look

Are you looking at selling the wood grain stuff your planning on taking out?

I would like to buy them if you are.

    Thanks

  2. Yeah I just went ahead and cut it out. I got the new one fitting pretty good. I placed the floor in and bolted on doors and fenders. I'm getting ready to instal torque boxes than I can weld in the firewall and the floor. On another note the passenger side fender looks way off. But I'll have to deal with that when I get there.

  3. Update 1/25/08

Just a couple of pictures from the past few days...

Got the passenger side torque box installed.

Was waiting around for the AJE stuff to come in, so I figured I might as well not completely waste a day and cut out the firewall.

Test fitting the new firewall, still haven't done a final fitment/prep for welding, but getting close. Might be tomorrow or Tuesday.

Chappy how did this firewall kit fit? I'm almost thinking I will be going this way instead of the way of firewall ext. (toe boards).

    Thanks

  4. Ok I got the floor almost all cut out, Both torque boxes are out, working on the floor board ext. (toe boards) someone fixed it and fixed it again so cutting through 3 floor pans is turning into a big pain in my butt. My next question is has anyone used the one piece torque boxes from CJPonys? Part #M117L/M117R I don't understand how these boxes go in.

  5. Looking good! If it makes you feel any better, when they were making my car and had areas where the floor, trans tunnel etc didn't fit flush, they merely used sealant to fill the gaps. Found this out when I blasted the body. Nice work guys. Keep up the nice work!

This is what I found in my car when I pulled out the torque box. I noticed the floors weren't even touching the frame rails lots of mud, seam sealer, and undercoating. So I ordered a one piece floor and started cutting. I tell you what that's a scary feeling when big chunks of floor start hitting the ground.

  6. I ordered the Dynacorn floor also but I ordered the Weld-Thru Primer. I'm hopinh all goes well I never really did anything like this. I was working on my torque box and noticed the floor and other stuff just slapped together so I'm starting to really tear into this thing.

Also I noticed back on page 23 after your welded in your torque box you welded a panel over it was that the Floor To Firewall Extension Driver Side 1965-1970?
