Why are these impossible to find? Anyone know of where I can find a skin or full repop. They seem to be a dime a dozen for the fastbacks but nothing for coupes. I have a "fixable" original lid, but its jacked up and with the time I'll have invested straightening, fixing, welding, (or sectioning) filler and sanding, I may as well have a new one.

Depending where you are located you should be able to find a steel shop. 18-20 gage steel isn't all that expensive and it is so much cheaper than a patch and virtually the same thing. Even Lowes and tractor supply carry sheet metal but they are usually about 5x the price of a an actual steel shop.

I patched four holes today (two per door) both bottom corners on each door. Any halfway proficient welder should be able to match these w/o problem as I am far from an expert. If it helps, I have a Hobart 285. I matched the steel and cut it out leaving only about 1/64". You can use small magnets to hold it in place (it will also give you the correct alignment. With flux core wire I had to use the #1 setting with 20 feed. With a better welder you could lower your amps even further. Remember to do your four corners, cool it off, do four more and repeat until you are done. Its thin steel so you don't want to warp it. Good luck, hope it helps.
