  1. So did anyone come up with a tight fitting long tube header for this application? I am wanting to run 3" pipes out the car and would really like to run out of longs. I will add a link to Photobucket to my build and the same clearence issue. If anyone has pics of the ground clearence and the type of headers you are using I would really appriciate it. http://s1104.photobucket.com/albums/h336/rages6971/2012-10-03%2070%20Mustangs%20Header%20malfunction/ http://s1104.photobucket.com/albums/h336/rages6971/Engine%20Fit-up/ The second link Is what the engine compartment looks like at th moment. I am currently starting bodywork besides these stupid malfunctions like the headers.... PS. the wheels on the car are just to roll it around, I have some nice 18's that tuck up under the wheel wells. Here is a link with the 18's fitted on the car. I am not getting tires until paint is finished, but the plan is 265-35-18 front and 285-35-18 rear. I have done a lot of measuring and guess I will just have see if it all pays off. PS. who ever it was that on this site that said they ran 18's (18x10 front & 18x12"s rear) and a stock suspension without any wheel mods or suspension mods, I am call BS! Prove it! http://s1104.photobucket.com/albums/h336/rages6971/18%20inch%20fit%20up/
  2. Wow, that's messed up! I never bothered calling because I have all the tools to fix it, or make my own also. I did try to contact MD about their hydraulic clutch linkage also but never got a response, so I ended up just making my own. Guess I will avoid MD products from now on. Not much luck with my first experience with them. Also, for anyone else with a saw and a welder (or know someone who can weld), you can modify the original crossmember to work with minimal effort and for very minimal cost. Wish I had that info before dropping $100+. This is not my picture, but am sure it would work after comparing and modifying the MD piece to fit.
  3. Has anyone used the Modern Driveline TKO swap transmission crossmember? If so, any issues with the fit? I ended up cutting 5/8" out of the drivers side mount and welding it back together because it didn't go to the right hole (upper) and wasn't level. The quality of the part was great, just the mounting holes are wrong. Also, slotted hole should be on the passenger side. O'well, it works now. Oh, and that is using the original style trans mount, not the 5.0 mount.
  4. All very good information guys, keep it coming! I had read up on House of Kolor, and they have a beautiful product. It's just more work and expense than I need for this project. I am not doing graphics or any metal flake, just a solid blue. I might black out the back tail light panel but not sure yet. It is interesting about using a single stage. Wouldn't the bccc be more durable and less maintenance than a single stage color? It would require frequent buffing wouldn’t it? I guess it would be easier to touch up though... I'm going to go hit a couple local paint suppliers and get a cost estimate for materials. Is there any place online worth checking out for supplies? Thanks again for all the replies; It is giving more ideas and options to check out!
  5. Well I have about finished the fit-up on my 70 and am now thinking about paint. Is there any specific brand you like, and why? I’m going with epoxy primer and a base/clear system, just unsure of any differences in the paint manufactures or application process. The options appear to be between PPG, Sherwin-Williams, or DuPont. I want to pick one manufacturer and use their products for compatibility reasons. What have you had the best results with? Adrian
