  1. They have a book called the CPI book which stands for Car of Particular Interest. If i wanted to fight it at the time i would of had to hire a private appraiser and IF they agreed i would get my money back. Oh yeah they wanted the $1,200 up front. Someone told me that if i get a dealer willing to do it, i can have the dealer write up a bill of sale and the state will believe the value a dealer declares. The problem is finding a trust worthy dealer. In other words one that will screw the state...not me. lol
  2. I have been restoring my 69 fastback for 3 years... it sat for 5 years before that not registered. I want to get it registered now and i was told by the dmv i would have to pay taxes on $17,500 book value. That would be around $1,200 plus all 8 years of back taxes!! WTF! does anyone know a way around this? it's gonna be very expensive!!
  3. It was a total basket case... I should have parted it out but i just couldn't. My two boys fell in love with it. I have changed both front frame rails. Both rear quarters. Both fenders and doors. New hood. Both trunk drop offs. Thats an 89 gt 5.0. rebuilt the trans and rear. sand blasted and painted all the small parts. i could go on and on.
  4. Here are some pictures of my 1969 Fastback.... I bought it three years ago. I have pretty much done everything. Just working the bugs out now.
  5. I am restoring a 1969 fastback and i have begun putting the interior together and i am getting stuck on this part. The car came apart when i bought it and i know how it goes in the car but how does the rear seat back attach??? I have tried a few differrent ways but maybe i'm missing something. If someone has pictures that would help. Thanks in advance.
