  1. I have a 69 Mach 1, originally an S-Code 390 with 4-speed (engine and trans long gone). I now am working on a 351W-4V from an 87 Bronco. Can I use any C6 with that combination, as long as it mounts up to the engine? Thanks for your help.
  2. Thanks everyone. I went ahead and bought the 351W from the old '87 bronco. It's actually a factory 4v with Holley 600CFM carb. I have everything from oil pan to air cleaner, but just need an alternator and PS pump. I am not sure which transmission to look for. I have what appears to be a C6 from an old 360, but the bolt patterns don't line up. I assume from what I have read that a C4 will mount to the 351W. I am not too interested in AOD or anything, but just want a simple inexpensive automatic. What donor cars can I use to get a C4 that will fit this 351W?
  3. Would a 351W HO from an 87 Bronco work in a 69 Mach 1? Any clearance issues with standard exhaust manifolds or with headers?
  4. sorry, apparently I don't know how to use the forum's quote function.
  5. I have no engine in the car right now. When I purchased the car, it came with a broken down 351W in the trunk. The car is an S-code, though I am not planning to (i.e. don't have the budget to) make it original, and never intend to race it. But I just want a decent carbureted Ford V8 that runs and sounds good.
  6. Thanks everyone for your experience and advice. I do not have a large budget, so I may opt for a 351W or even a 302 to save money in the long run. Even though I already own the 360 with tranny, I may end up spending more money on it eventually. Unless I can literally drop it in the Stang without having to buy anything else, which I doubt would be so easy. Anyone want to buy a 360 with tranny? LOL
  7. I have a 360 FE engine with auto transmission, from a mid 1970's Ford truck. Any concerns with putting this into my 69 Mach 1? Thanks for your help.
  8. I need help from the experts: Can you please tell me if a 390-2V engine with C6 transmission from a 67 Ford Country Squire wagon will fit into my 69 Mach 1 S-code? I understand there may be some clearance issues with the wagon's exhaust manifolds, and I may need to change to headers. Any big concerns with doing this swap?
