trying to bleed brakes and Im getting a leak where the hoses bolt to calipers. Leak is coming from caliper side of hose connection not bolt side
-
got a leak in the front discs when im pumping. Leaks from where bolt attaches the hoses Do I have these on reversed sides?
-
nvm right after posting the fluid starting coming out
-
fluid is coming out of rear port but not front? keep pumping
-
how do you bench bleed it?
-
So I bought a vacuum pump to start bleeding my brakes. I went to the wheel furthest from the master cylinder and started pumping. Pumped for a while and nothing coming thru. So I went to just manually pumping the brakes and still nothing. I see bubbles in the master cylinder when I pump but nothings coming out bleeder and fluid level doesnt seem to be going down. I checked all the other bleeders and there not leaking so I dont know what it could be.
-
how do I fill the brake system from empty? Fill from master cyliinder or do I fill the system from each brake bleeder?
-
my dad randomly had it. So DOT 3 is what should be used then?
-
can I use this fluid in my 69 coupe?

these are it!

I have that. That holds the lock in the door. I need the connector that connects the back of the lock to the rest of the locking mechanism

is this the clip i need? http://www.cjponyparts.com/cart.aspx
-
yep thats where Ive connected it but the door but door is not latching and unlatching properly. They were working before I took it apart so they should work in theory.
-
Is there supposed to be a clip that goes on the back side of the door lock? Ive tried just connecting the arm from the mechanism of the door lock but it falls right back off when I unlock the car. Also where does the arm that come from the outer door handle connect to inside the door?
-
the outer tie rod bolts to spindle and inner tie rod is bolted to steering rack. The adjust sleeve connects the 2.
-
Anyone know if the inner tie rods on our cars are tappered. The jam nuts that came with my hitchkis adjuster sleeves do not thread on all the way. They thread to the backside of the nut (all threads of nut) and then completly stop moving and will not go on any further. The only thing I can figure is the size of tie rod is changing as you tighten. I was able to back off nuts and there wasnt any damage to threads on tie rod so its not a thread issue. The adjuster sleeves thread on both inner and outer ball joints without a problem. Just the jam nuts are the issue.

Rear Disc Brake Conversion kit
Daves69Coupe replied to Daves69Coupe's topic in 1969-70 Technical Forum
this wouldnt be the kit I bought. Just put up as example -
Been looking into converting my rear drums to disc and was wondering what else needs to be changed if I do buy the kit. I imagine I need a new rear end brake line that goes from wheel to wheel. Also the factory parking brake would then have to be replaced. Im sure someone has done this conversion on here. What else did you have to redo my buying this kit? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Summit-Disc-Brake-Rear-10-5-Dia-Rotors-1-Piston-Calipers-Parking-Brake-Ford-/370630048821?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1969%7CModel%3AMustang&hash=item564b45bc35&vxp=mtr

Ok. So the connection from the trans is no longer needed then? Correct.
-
on the shifter of the B&M correct? Not factory though. If the neutral safety normally comes from transmission how do you then wire it straight to shifter in the aftermarket?
-
Anyone have experience with some aftermarket C4 shifters? Been browsing and seen a couple candidates. Im looking for shifters and linkage. 1 thing Ive notice on all the listings is that they all seem to come with a neutral safety switch. I thought that the switch comes from the transmission? Pretty sure on my car theres no wires between my shifter and transmission.
-
Ive seen the video before actually. I understand the install of all the parts except parking brake cables. Since your doing the front brakes in video you dont have the parking brake cable to remove and install. my problem is it doesnt feel like theres enough cable inside the drum to reach the arm where it attaches. The parking brake cables are whats holding me up from completing the whole braking system.

no bending is required to get the clips in. Theres lil notches in the molding for the clips to slide into place.
-
which connectors go where? Theres 3 different types, a square one, then a bolt with a hook coming off it, then a third that also has a piece of metal extending off. See pic
