I was getting ready to put my doors on the mustang the other day and found that the plate that the bolts actually thread into was all rusted. It was only surface rust but the threads were all rusted up. I don't know what this piece is called but it has three threaded holes for the door hinge to bolt to. I've been looking for some new ones to buy but have not been able to find any online. Anyone know where I can get four new ones?

Thanks guys. That black 69 looks nasty. I got plenty of time to think about what color I want the car to be. My first priority is to get it running, then worry about the looks.

By body styling I meant side scoops, a hood scoop, the front lip spoiler and maybe a small wing on the back. even tho i drive an import but i hate neons and body kits. My subaru looks pretty much stock except for wheels and lowered. Is black chrome expensive to have done? The chrome on the car now isn't in great shape. I'd have to either rechrome or paint over them. I agree about the black paint and it showing everything. another color i was thinking about was a darker silver or metallic grey.

Im not sure what the year of the c4 is but im definately going to have to upgrade it. I think it should hold up fine for now as long as i don't put any good tires on the car or otherwise abuse the trans.

Hey, I bought a 69 mustang (not running) from my friend who also just signed on this site (69shelbycoupe). So far I have some of the interior, a power steering pump, c4 auto trans and a 351c to throw into it. I've migrated over from the tuner crowd as i drive an 04 subaru wrx. My plans for the mustang are to give it a full interior (minus a/c, maybe stereo) with about 400-500 hp. I've figured out what body styling I wanted for it and how i wanted the interior to look but i'm stuck on the paint. My original idea was to make it satin black with gloss black stripes but then i moved to two tone black top and dark blue bottom. After some thinking i thought about saving money and just making it all gloss black. The problems i've run into are: With the satin black, will the chrome trim throw off the look? how much will the two tone paint scheme run me? My subaru is black, will i really want two black cars and will the all black just be too boring? What do you guys think? any extra suggestions? thanks.
