  1. I have all the parts to swap my glue-in door glass to '70 bolt-in glass for my convertible (alignment issues even after regluing) and I'm wondering what folks have done with the stainless trim and weatherstripping from the '69 door glass...

Did you install it on the '70 glass, or swap the rear quarter windows to '70 glass as well to have it like the '70 set up (no trim on the door glass; trim on rear quarter window), or keep it like the '69 set up?

I ask because the stainless trim and weather stripping for the '69 door glass hangs down on the bottom of the glass about 3 inches without attaching to the glass because the bottom of the '70 glass is cut at an angle vs. straight on on the '69.

  2. Rmarks, sorry I did not get back to you on your question earlier. If I understand this, it makes the noise only when you shut the key switch off. Do you have an external amplifier installed? What I think you have is one part of the radio shutting off before another part. When the fan is going while you shut the car off, it will cause the voltage to the accessories to drop slowly. When the voltage drops slowly, the problem does not occur. You could probably fix this by installing a capacitor on the +12 volts to your radio. Do you have an external amplifier?

No external amp. Just the stereo, two door speakers and a dual cone speaker in the dash.

Wish I knew about you a couple of years ago. Technical question for you. I had my Am/8-track converted to Am/FM 8-track w/RCA connectors and now every time I turn the car off with the radio on it makes a "ooohh" noise, except when I have the blower motor on low. Any idea on what may cause this or what I can do to fix it. Driving with FM is great, but the noise is annoying.

  4. Just installed my top loader 4-speed in my car to replace the auto trans and I'm having a hard time to get my clutch pedal to line up with the brake pedal. First is it supposed to be...been awhile since I had a manual trans car, but I seem to remember it that way.

I did not install a set of new pedals as they were already in the car since it was originally a 4-speed.

The clutch is a new three finger type and I have played with the adjustment several times. I can get it where the pedal is low to the floor or a couple inches below the brake pedal. When I adjust further to get it up higher by the brake pedal, it gets to a certain spot and then the pedal pops/springs all the way up as if I reached down and pulled it up.

Is there supposed to be a stopper of some sort to keep the pedal from popping all the way up?

Any suggestions on how to align/adjust the pedal?
