  1. I have a back seat issue, and I was wondering if someone can tell me how to fix it. I pieced together a back seat and rear interior but there is a gap between the seat, rear interior quarter panel, and rear tray. Am I missing another trim piece? Did I piece together the wrong parts? Let me know if you can help, I included a pic so you can see what I am talking about thanks, Bob
  2. I was looking at re-doing the upholstery and was wondering how big of a difference the regular upholstery was compared to the TMI version. There is a decent price difference and wanted to make sure it was worth it. Anyone have any thoughts
  3. I am putting together the interior of a 69 fastback and I have a few questions. 1. The sail panels.....I know they are pinched in with the windlace and the rear window seal but are they also resting on the pieces of rear quarter trim? 2. I don't have that rear quarter trim is there a place that makes it or do I have to go hunting in used parts? 3. The lights in the sail panel....How are they held in is it a screw? a clip? any answers would be appreciated Thanks for looking Bob

  5. I have a stationary mustang back seat. I am finding pieces and putting them together. The back (vertical piece that goes against your back) piece is mounted on two hinges on the bottom. On top does it screw directly into the metal panel that the deck lid sits on? Are there clips that need to be used? Also are there other places that this back seat is mounted? any help would be great thanks Bob
  6. Does anyone have a picture handy of the wire going from block to firewall so I can see how this is supposed to look. I will look at eng compart pics on the site as well
  7. Thanks for the info on the grounding strap. Ill take a look and see if there is a grounding strap there. Thanks again Bob
  8. what do you mean by missing body ground straps
  9. Hey, just so you all know I am a novice and it takes me a little while to understand things. I had a shop get my mustang running but since the car is older than everyone in the shop the wiring wasn't done correctley. I have some issues. 1.Guages are not running unless the lights are on and even than not all of them work. They are not grounding out trust me I checked them 3 times. 2.Car runs but the battery isn't charging. 3. When inspecting the alt. regulator there are some wires that have been clipped or have dead ends on them. I see from the diagram that there are two yellows. One of them is listed as Radio Condensor and it ends. What is that for? I will list later what else has been cut. Should I just re-run these wires according to the diagram? If it's not the wiring but is the alternator could that mess up the guages? Any thoughts could be helpful Thanks Bob
  10. i made anoter attempt and had an interesting response. When the lights were on a few of the gauges worked but with the lights off there was nothing. Could this still be a gauge grounding out?

  12. relic 1864 suggested to tape around the guage metal housings. Are you reffering to the studs of the guages or the backside of the housing? I am just not sure of what pieces your talking about Thanks again Bob

  14. I am working on my gauges because the only one that was working was the fuel guage. I ordered a replacement circuit board installed it and now even that isnt working. Is there a common mistake when installing a new board. The flashers work but thats it at this point. Also is there a way to test if I have a good regulator on the back of the gauges? Thanks for the help Bob

  16. When I purchased my 69 fastback I was so happy that I found one with most mechanical parts in tact. The interior was in pieces and also missing some pieces. Does anyone have a list of what is needed and a step by step process of what should be put together first.
  17. I took it on a test drive, it wasn't far, I dont have working guages yet either. When I drove it the pedal held firm and I didn't need to pump the brakes. So at this point I believe I have functioning drum brakes. I understand that I could always switch out the master cylander but it probably will have little or no effect. If one day in the near future I decided to upgrade (I will need to keep the switch as affordable and easy as possible) what kit do people like?
  18. I haven't taken the car for a ride yet since posting the original question. When sitting in the drivers seat and I apply the brake pedal there is a solid hold on the pedal and it does not sink to the floor. I have an area that I will do some test driving tomorrow and see if it continues to consistanly hold pressure or if I have to pump up pressure. Ill post again tomorrow with my findings. Thanks a-lot Bob
  19. Thanks for the input guys. After putting on new shoes, hardware, and a new line I still don't like the braking power. I feel like I still need to pump the brake to build pressure. Is there a way to test the master cylandar on the Car? Could there be air traped in the M.C. that's not being bleed? If the master is working properly and I want to upgrade to a power booster what is the easiest kit to install? Thanks again for the help Bob
  20. I am almost finished with a 1969 mustang restoration and I am unhappy with the manual brake stopping power. (4 wheel drum obviously) I know there are expensive solutions to this problem and I may look into those down the road. The question I have is there a master cylander set up out there that would increase performance without putting on a booster? Please let me know if you know of something, and thanks for looking at the post Bob
