1969 steering wheel locks

Hello, I am currently restoring a 69 mustang. I am pulling my hair out chasing this problem and was hoping you could possibly help. When driving and making a left turn the steering wheel will lock,acting like it is at full turn lock and will not turn any more in that direction until you turn back right then you can go back left. Can y'all help figure out what is wrong or where to start looking? Its a 1969 mustang with factory power steering(control valve and ram)
