Boogerschnot 12 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Has anyone tried wiring the guages without using the PCB?? I would like to try this out. Its either that or just buy new gauges and take out the old stuff.. I need to go stare at the back of my gauges for a little to figure it out I guess. but I figure the only thing would be to wire in the voltage regulator and some new lights and then make a harness to go along with it for quick disconnect. Any Ideas? Ive got the Ron Francis wiring kit going in and I dont want to splice into the old wiring harness to install it. I would rather just pull it apart and rewire the gauges by hand. ForceFed70 14 Report post Posted March 9, 2009 Lots of people have done it. Generally when doing a swap to all autometer guages or something similar. Is there a problem with your printed circut or something? Wiring isn't too difficult so long as you understand how it all works.
Boogerschnot 12 Report post Posted March 10, 2009 I just dont want to reuse the old pigtail pretty much, and I like the look of updated gauges. Its one of those things I guess,, Im doing the rest of the car and it seems that it just falls in line. There is nothing wrong with the old gauges or the printed circuit board, I just want to update.
