1969 Mach 1 390 engine?

I have a 69 Mach 1 mustang with the VIN code for a 390 engine. The car has a Big Block in it but the previous owner thought it was a 351. How do I tell the difference?

Congrats on having a big block mach 1, I've been restoring a 69 390/4 speed mach for just under two years now. Do you have a picture of your engine bay? We could tell you real quickly what engine you have.
