I know this isn't a Mustang, or even a Ford, but everyone likes to see mechanical destruction, right? At least when it's not yours, anyway...lol

 

This is a 4cyl turbocharged diesel in a New Holland LS170 skid-steer loader. One of the jobs I'm working on at the shop. The cool thing about it was that it still ran and drove! I drove into the shop and from there to the steam-out area. Worked well as a "cut-away" too!! lol

i guess it would if enough of the other cylenders were ok... but still; it must have sounded like a bunch of parts going through a washing machine!

Actually, it didn't sound all that bad. Pretty much like a 4cyl engine that was missing on one cylinder. It was "missing" alright! Sure smoked like a bear though! The rod was hung up on the motor mount, just like the pics show, so it was out of the way of the crank. Pretty wild to see the crank spinning around when the thing was running.
