fastback40 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 Gotta do something with my motor, but why can't I use a late model 351w? I know its a roller engine but I think it would run fine with a carb and swapping out timing covers. I know I'm missing something here, but I'd love to pack away my 69block.. bnickel 10,004 Report post Posted February 6, 2006 you'll be fine using a late model windsor. keep in mind that only the 94 and up windsors are roller blocks though. you'll need to look for the casting number E4TE to get the roller. the only thing i would suggest is that you use all the accessory brackets and pulleys from the 69 motor including the harmonic balancer or get a new balancer for a 69. the reason being that the 69 windsor has a 3 bolt crank pulley and 70 up had a 4 bolt crank pulley and the pulley spacing from the block was different which will result in mis-aligned belts.
