  1. Has anyone removed their AC evaporator inside the car I have a leak in mine? I've read up on the removal from the Ford service manual, one question I have is can I remove the evaporator without removing the dash pad? Does it help to get to the area through the glove box? One other question is they have an "Early" and "Late" 1969 evaporator, I know the late one has 35% more cooling, any opinions on this would be a great help. Thanks Jerry69


  2. It's tight except right there, I can see the stud move side to side and the pitman arm looks like it might be loose and not tighten down, but I can see the carter pin going through the castle nut. Just looks odd watching it. I can't get to it till I can get my friends lift and get a good look at it.


  3. I have a 69 Mustang coupe with power steering, when I look down I see the stud on the control valve will move a 1/4 inch each way before moving any other part of the steering moves. Is this stud suppose to swivel side to side or is it suppose to be in a fixed position?

  4. OK I looked and I can see where the antenna is and there is no wire.... So I guess the person who owned it before pulled it out.... Does anyone know if I remove the antenna if I would be able to solder in a new piece of coax ??? I work in electronics so if I can fix it I can still use the antenna...   5. Hi I removed my dash pad and glove box and found there someone had dummied a clothes hanger all taped up under the dash. There is an antenna on the outside, and there is an antenna coax that plugs into the radio at one end and a female antenna connection located about where the glovebox button is.....

    Would I by chance find the antenna wire (if there is one) on the other side of the right kick panel? Also did the 69 Coupe outside antenna have a square base? Thanks Jerry69


  6. I found where the vacuum hose goes, it was hard to tell what color it was and had it norrowed down to 3 colors. Even though I found the vacuum hose on the left side of the radio it ends up going to the water valve vacuum switch just above the glove box. I'll have to add 12" to 18" of additional vacuum hose then connect it. I figured the old owner hacked it up.

    So all will be fixed tomorrow and the radio reinstalled.

  8. Hi everyone, I took out my radio and noticed a vacuum line just next left side not hooked to anything. I looked in back of the heater controls and see 6 vacuum hoses hooked up to the rear. I followed the loose vacuum hose up and around the left side. My guess is it's one of the 2 vacuum hoses that go outside. Does any recall where this vacuum hose inside hooks up to?

  9. Hi everyone, I took out my radio and noticed a vacuum line just next left side not hooked to anything. I looked in back of the heater controls and see 6 vacuum hoses hooked up to the rear. I followed the loose vacuum hose up and around the left side. My guess is it's one of the 2 vacuum hoses that go outside. Does any recall where this vacuum hose inside hooks up to?

  10. On my post here (See Pic) the 2 top come from the M. C. The rear fitting goes to the rear brakes. The bottom fitting goes to the right front brake. The front angle fitting goes to the left front. That's how my are set up...

    Did you pre-bleed the MC before installing? On your setup is you bleeder valve on the caliper straight up when bleeding? If they are at 1 or 2 oclock position air can get caught up high in caliper, sometimes when bleeding while pressing down on the peddle just open the bleeder a tiny bit and tap a hammer lightly to the caliper, sometimes the light tapping will let the trapped air bubbles out...

    You might list what method you used for bleeding your brakes...

  12. Hi, I have a question on exhaust. I have glass packs on currently and will eventually change to Flowmasters. My right side is ok, but my left side does small pops at various times. I retarded the timing and took most of it away but it might pop every 5 seconds or do small 3 pops sometimes just one then sometimes none at all. I reajusted the fuel mixture on the carb. The last 30 seconds it didn't pop at all. Is this something that might be just to having glass packs on? The engine runs nice and smooth and starts as soon as I turn the key.

  13. OK great answers, that's the word I was thinking of is fender clips, I know the push-in type your talking about. Our Ace hardware caries a lot of automotive parts, such as those and springs etc... I'll run down and grab some of those... Thanks for all the replies... That rattle from the grill was worse in the wind than a babies rattle...

  14. I finally got my 69 back on the road, I noticed the whole front grill rattles pretty bad. When I looked at how it was secured the old owner used those plastic push anchors so there's a lot of play. What was used by the factory to secure the grill?

    .

    Was there any felt washers used and maybe those (I call them) C clips that push sideways into the hole and allow a sheet metal screw to be screwed in and secured...

    .

    I just hate a car that squeeks and rattles....
