Mr gasket and heavy loose stock spring, i need to adjust the choke but its in the limit of adjustment, im thinking od drill a hole and do a force open choke plate adjustment screw , because in cold weather the choke plat is fully closed Also im having hot start problems with 12 initial timing or i can get it to idlefor a few seconds have you tried this plates? http://www.thompsonperformance.com/shop_products.html

  4. Well i put the 58 jets and the carb is very responsive, burns tires at 3th gear im really digging it 1 thing i notice is the my vacum went up after taking the 64 jets Is this normal? Also the idle had to lower it up cause i went to 1000 rpms Havent hooked up the vac canister to the carb thats the only thing missing

Hahaha naw, Having a blast of a time on tinkering my engine, whats wrong with that? ive learned to recurve a distribuitor and tune my carbs with help from this thread than from everything I read on other forums, didnt settle on a sweet spoted carb results and dare to change it to see if i get better pep results Also bumped my post count :)

Yes they are 54 stock, it says that 4 size up the carb could have something wrong in puere stock engines, the guy at holley told me that jetting is not an exact results , since i put a hi flo filter and have change the neck of my intake with a spacer, they told me also that 570 would be a lil over carbed cause with all my settings i need a 525 cfm carb because im not running my car at 6000 rpm all the time & not using 100% effcy of my engine with radical roller cams or performance heads They have seen 302 with up to 8 jet sizes up and working great with the distributor mods that ive done to my engine In winter im prolly going to run smaller jets than summer so they reccomend to keep a pair bigger in the glove box, and the 64 if i do a altitude variable trip PS he was amazed with all the stuff ive learned here in this 2 weeks

  11. Gotcha, anyway i bought a downsize kit, 64 is way bigger than the 4160 its rich all the time exept idle Thats why i wanted to land on a 60 The 54 on the avenger is too lean at cruising speed exept at idle

  13. ??? Yo told me tha was too much 4 jets, im at 64 its too rich I wanted to lower it to 60 from 54 Maybe i got it wrong :S

I never could make it go lean with the mixture screws, it will shut off or stumble a lot this one with hi vacuum runs way better also with the bigger jet it feals like a efi car with the smallest will hessitate a lil but feal very crisp the 4160 felt great but this one feals better I dont know how to explain it
  15. Well i went from 54 to 64 for this test so prolly 58 would be a good size? At idle is rich - ideal but on the rich led for seconds it goes on the ideal zone On the 4160 was stuck on the rich side
  16. It runed rich with 64 jets :S But has better response in the city Should i buy a pair of 60s? No boggin or hessitations I didnt do the last step of opening the back plates
