  1. Congrats! But just one pic???

Yes, for now. Lol. It took me forever to get that one loaded.

Awesome, enjoy the build. Is that a Torino in the background?

Yes. An all original '71 Torino GT with a #s matching 351c, that runs.

  2. This isn't my car. Sharing for a guy at work. I've seen this car in person and it's sharp. A lot of Mods, Time and Money put in to it. He has it listed on Craigslist. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/5044824984.html

  3. Ill see if I can did up pic of my Z bar but I have Tri-Ys. Are you looking for a factory manifold or is the pic just for reference?

Looking for a factory set up just for visual aid in parts searching.

Does the exhaust run above the z bar or is that due to the aftermarket z bar bracket in the 1st pic. Thanks for posting the pics!

I don't have a picture. But my 351w 4sp setup use to have stock exhaust manifolds. There is a lot of clearance. It was a little tight for the exhaust pipe with both clutch linkage and power steering but it fits. Make sure you have the correct exhaust manifold like the one mustangmike6996 shows. Also make sure you get the correct Z-bar for a 351W. Both left and right exhaust manifolds and the Z-bar for a 351W are different than a 302. Most people not familiar with 351W's are not aware the Z-bars are different than a 302.

Ok. I don't have power steering.

I was looking at this manifold on ebay but they say it is for an auto trans. It looks like its for a manual trans. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1969-1970-1971-Ford-Mustang-351W-Windsor-Exhaust-Manifold-LH-Cougar-C9OE-9431-B-/201055262595?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A1970%7CModel%3AMustang&hash=item2ecfd3d783&vxp=mtr

  4. Well I finally got the engine back in my FB. Can anyone post a pic of a factory manifold and z bar INSTALLED on the car. I need to see the clearances between the 2, along with what the manifold actually looks like. I don't have any exhaust so I'm trying to figure out what I need.

EDIT: Oh yea, its 351w and a 3 speed manual on my '70.

  5. THANK YOU for the poll!!

I put 20% on mine. I get a lot of compliments on it, and have turned people who hate tint, into lovers : )

It looks good, though it looks lighter than 20. I put 20 on my wife's '02 and you can only see through the sides when it's sunny and you can't see through the back.

leaning towards 35% bc at shows when I park I don't want people cupping their face on my windows

    Lol.

I had 35% all around and liked it. But now that I'm redoing the car, I'm going to put 20%. Here's a link to my thread and some pics. You can still see the driver at night through 35%.

If I do, I will at least go 20%

  6. what is a racker?

Sorry I'm just getting back, but I goofed. Meant to say rocker.

Yup, i didnt mean that gears would add hp lol.

I figured you knew, and hoped he did to, but with some of the stuff you see asked online, I figure its always best to clarify. lol

IIRC: A bone stock 69 302 2bbl engine put out around 210 hp.

That was a "gross rating" right. Wonder how low that would've been with the "net ratings" they use now.

I think 82stangracer meant rocker, as in roller rocker arms.

Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner! Thanks for picking up my slack!

  7. Welcome to the site! The limit it the sky depending on your wallet and time. + 1 on the above listed parts. The gears, however will not increase your HP, it will just pull you out of the hole quicker and also make you turn higher RPMs going down the road. What trans do you have? A good set of aluminum heads will flow much better and reduce weight. What carb do you have. a 600 or 650 would be plenty for a 302. Summit sells top end kits that come with Edelbrock air gap intake, heads, cam, lifters, timing chain, bolts and gaskets. But you would still have to buy your rockers. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-2091/

  8. Just talking specifically about physically bolting in a V8 inplace of a 6 cyl. (not suspension, brakes, etc) What would it take to bolt a 351w in, mounting wise? Do I have to use these brackets from MU? http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=C7ZZ6028PR+01&catkey=65-73$srccode=MUEMVWEB What do they do exactly? With those brackets would I need the short or tall style engine mounts? Thanks

    Edit: refering to my car.
