I see no C welded into the back of my CJ.. I was told the the 4 bolt CJ'S were chosen from the best of the best of the standard cleveland castings and turned into 4 Bolt CJ'S. Everyone has a story it just depends on who you want to listen to.

The CJ should have 4 bolt mains and open chamber heads. Just make sure it will spin over.
It's a pretty good deal. There is a guy on ebay selling just the block and caps for 700 the heads should be worth at least 300 with all the other parts it wouldn't be a bad deal. Offer him 1000 he may take it..

Just google chi heads and you will find what you need..

Maybe use a flat blade screwdriver under the bottom of the rubber cover and help it up. I have removed many of these and most will just pull up and off just by grabing the sides with just a little wiggle.

Mine looks pretty close to what you have there just a slight gap of an 1/8" or so.

Is there a crush washer on the other side of the brake hose connection? I'm not 100% sure you need one there just a thought. The calipers are cast steel and the hose connection looks like its also some sort of steel so there could be a burr in the caliper keeping it from sealing. Just a thought.

BTW I have sold many sets of seat belts on ebay and I'm sure I can come up with another pair if needed..
-
I would just add another belt in the center useing the same bolts that hold down the belts in your car already. Just mount the male on one side and the female on the other. This is how it's done in the larger cars.

looking good and i really like silver jade..

It's time again for the Magic Dragon Street Meet May 4-6 Lake Ozark Mo. I went last year and there were over 1200 cars registered great time had by all.

One nipple is up and one is down in my car. I don't think any one will ever notice which way your nipples are pointed when you get the seats in..
-
You wouldnt have to drop the trans just the pan. If you take out the dipstick tube bolt you should be able to get the tube out.
-
Make sure the studs on the gauges dont short to the gauge housing..They could twist just a little when tightening the nuts..
-
Some say only two of these clips are used but the ones i have taken apart had four and they fit on each cornner.

If you do a search in the Project Progress Forum
I have two pictures in my album where you can see the tubes I installed along the right valve cover. I just went to the junkyard and found a late 70's big Ford car with a 400 in it and used the tubes off of that..

Problems with pop open gas cap.

I have the same problem and I bought mine 3 years ago. I have not really messed with it yet but it really bothers me and I will try to come up with a fix for it. I don't think a new cap will solve the problem. If I just grab the side of the cap and give a slight tug it will come open without even flipping the lever. I hope someone will respond with a fix..
