  1. I think, in 10 years that we'll all know that the Stang is the best looker of the three. I was never a fan of the Challenger, but the new one I've seen was pretty impressive-as an improvement on the original. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think 70's styling should have been left in the 70's. It's OK, but too close to the original to stir my hemi, as it were.... The design of the Camaro STILL has me scratching my....head. I would say it's "Old meets new meets WTF?!?!?!" In time, you'll grow to appreciate the new Stang. It's like the sn95's you're seeing now. I didn't like them much new, but now I have grown to like them. As far as the test goes, who is surprised that the others "Cost twice as much to go twice as fast half as well?" Enjoy you're 416 Hp planter, bowties.

  3. As is driving into the freezing water, but #1 has to be flipping the truck in the driveway! (Watch the second car pass the entrance, he slows, looks, and you can tell he says, "F'it" as he drives on....)

  5. Yes, put at some point, you have to admit maybe your liking isn't everyone's that's where you sell. It does open possibilities when you can say, "I have the original if you don't like it." If 100% of you mods are improvements, it'll sell in a heartbeat, and the new owner will say, "I wonder why they didn't build them like this at the factory."

  7. I would urge us all to do that with everything we drive. They are our cars, so you have to avoid doing some unreversible modifications... And speaking of "going down the road". When it comes time for resale, the car will be judged by how it runs. Either it'll have the 1969 stock feel, or it will outrun everything but the modifieds today. Identifying your buyer is key. If you pull your powerplant, tho-you can't just turn it out to rust. You have to do something that will not say "I have the original in a box somewhere under a fine layer of red dust."

  9. I know I would have been. I like the car.

  11. "Concourse" is a rare place for people who want to memorialize 1969. There's a place for that. IMO, I don't care if a car has an EFI powerplant (Yours, that is.) What I dislike more is the recaro seats that look horrid in an old vehicle. I hate to say, but Old Ford Corp blue valve-covers and air-cleaner lids look way better than Edelbrock anything. Just my opinion...do I mind if a guy throws on a "Cobra" dress-up kit? No. That's just posing, I dislike Edelbrock dressing, that's all. I don't judge you by your car-I judge your car by your car. If you wind up doing something that I think destroys the effect, I might ask you why you didn't just go bone up a Camaro....Again, it's not the principle, it's the effect. Cut the hood up and throw on a 10-in. supercharger, that's not aesthetic, but it's not meant to be. Do what YOU like, just know if you're doing it for looks or effect. Be prepared for someone to say, "If I'd known you were going to do that, I'd have bought it from you for $XK dollars."

  13. The key is to go to your financial institution, and get pre-approved for a certain amount. Then you can shop with some security about what you can afford. Selling your home may be the bitter part. I've had friends move this year, and not be able to buy because they can't sell the old one. So it's apartment living, for now. Remember, what you're trying to do is like, two or three different phases, so make sure you take care of the details all around.

    Jean Luc Picard

nice. That's how to do a YouTube edit. (Are you sure that the movie was mid-90's? Seems I remember Patrick Stewart on Charlie Rose discussing it just a few years ago...dunno.)

    69 stang wreck

Right 3906Pack, they stuck the 428 in a wood chipper and dumped it on the road to take pictures of, so one day they can fool people on the internet...:helpsmilie: Seriously tho' is that the front or the rear tire in that pic? I think that mass in the center of the pic accounts for much of the missing body. looks like it's been torqued over. (I think the stripe on the rear quarters is actually upside down.)
  16. Probably picked up on a few key words and spammed from there. I've been reading wiki lately, but haven't updated anything.
  17. Doesn't say 69's.... cheers!
  18. This is a continuation to the "Database?" thread, which I could not post to Well, to belabor the point, I spent some time with the old girl this Xmas, and I'm more confused now than ever! I've been going through the gallery, and very few of you guys can take a decent picture of your engine!! What we need is a real way to compare the different features across the board. (When the car was purchased, Mom had the title, and she was selling both of her boys' cars. The other was a Wimbeldon White/Blue Le Mans stripe 66 coupe. When I picked up the 69, she told me the door and the tranny had been replaced, and after she signed the title, she waved me off, and walked away saying, "..everything else on the car is original...grumble, grumble...wierd car....grumble, grumble....get off my lawn...grumble.")
  19. beats me, I didn't see a car, but I put a bid in anyway.
  20. COngrats. Pak. 21. Thirded. That's what you get for playing meet the lowest bidder.
  22. I would have left the white stripe, maybe the scoop, too. But the paint is bad-@$$.
  23. Just looking at the pic in your sig. Is that new or old Stock?
