Rcodenewf got a reaction from Caseyrhe in Modifying window height stops
A couple of the rubbers were missing from the window limiting stops so i went and bought a selection of vacuum caps at my local supplier.
After matching the cap to the bracket i sprayed it with a little silicone and then warmed it with my heatgun. They fit quite tightly as the heat allows it to stretch and then constrict when cool.
Probably will outlast the car.
In the pic the original is in the middle and the ones on either side of it are the ones i did. . In my opinion its better than wrapping tape around it.
Hope this helps someone who runs into this situation.

Rcodenewf got a reaction from det0326 in Holley sniper or Fitech efi
Kris.. my son has a shop building custom vehicles and he shys away from the in line electric pump. Most are noisy and run hotter due to the fact that they are not submerged in fuel like the intank one. He sticks with sniper...great tech support...and in comparision with the FI Tech comes with everything you need. Fi Tech if i recall was sort of a'la'carte as far as the necessary brackets, studs etc. whereas it all came with the Holley. However that may have changed....He usually orders his exact fit tanks from Tanks Inc.

Rcodenewf got a reaction from bigmal in 69 Fuel Sender
I installed two SPI units in my 69 fastback and both failed with sunken plastic floats.
Then i went to scott drake..they sell two different ones..the cheapie and a stainless steel one. I bought the stainless steel unit several years back and it has been fine.

Rcodenewf got a reaction from Lucieswide in TKO 600 conversion in 69 fastback
Just checking in for feedback on this conversion. Car presently has a C4 in it but with 3.55's i'm turning @ 2800 at just over 60mph. Combine that with a set of flowmaster 40's and the drive can be quite aggravating.
With a .64 overdrive in the TKO i can get the rpm down to the 1700-1800 range which would be great.
I've received quotes from American powertrain and one other supplier.
American powertrain can supply me with the TKO 600, the modular T6061 crossmember, urethane mount, backup light harness etc.
Other than a hydraulic clutch setup they don't offer any mechanical linkage for this package.
I will shorten my own driveshaft; the trans comes with the short input shaft so i won't need a spacer plate and can bolt it directly to a factory bellhousing.I have a flywheel and will supply my own clutch.
The case will be "streamlined" by AP to fit the tunnel and the shifter will be located to utilize the factory position in the console.
Amerian powertrain does not, for some reason, supply a chrome Hurst shifter nor the correct round 69 one whereas Modern Driveline does.
I have Flotech long tubes on the car so i'm thinking that the z bar style linkage may have an interference problem.
Looking for feedback from anyone who has done this conversion.
Thanks...John

Rcodenewf got a reaction from Siburthuts in 70 fastback 351C clutch return springs
Just installed a new clutch/pressure plate on the 70. The springs were not correct for the car and were gobbled up with some tie wraps. I ordered the correct springs. A small one for the clutch fork. I installed it form the little hole in the clutch fork forward to the hole in the Z bar. Keeps the rod from flopping around.
The other one, part number C9ZZ-7523-A I believe goes in a hole in the top portion of the z bar back to the firewall. Anyone have good pics of these springs correctly installed.
Also my understanding is that there should be about .080 clearance between the clutch rod and where it fits in the clutch fork for freeplay?
Thanks...john
