Nuzzlet 0 Report post Posted January 26, 2021 I have a 1969 Mustang, 351w mounted to a T5 trans, and aftermarket 4 wheel disc brakes. What options do I have for getting the parking brake to work? What have you guys done to restomod your parking brakes? Currently, I just leave it in gear, but that is far less than ideal. Thanks!
EastYorkStang 63 Report post Posted January 26, 2021 When I put a Versailles rear end in mine I just hooked the factory cables of each together.

Did you buy the cables aftermarket? The factory ones I thought I have don't fit with the versailles calipers.
Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted January 29, 2021 I used late model (2003) Cobra brakes on my '70. The SN95 rear brakes do not have an internal drum brake like the Explorer's do. (I have an Explorer rear end in my '68, and my emergency brake stinks). I will send a few pics. But the stock foot operated parking brake works great. I used the late model brake cables and spliced them to fit in the '70 configuration.
Vicfreg 771 Report post Posted January 29, 2021 Oh, I have a Convertible, so the floor pan is different and I also have sub-frame connectors, that is what you see in some of the pictures. I really like the brakes. I sourced a NOS caliper set for front and rear, and some drilled slotted rotors from Ford Motorsport and Baer. Used Mustang Steve brackets on my 9" rear. Mike65 475 Report post Posted January 30, 2021 I have rear drum brakes but I used a center mount parking brake handle from a 1987 Fox Mustang in my 69 Coupe w/aftermarket Lokar parking brake cables. Here are the cables I used. https://www.cjponyparts.com/lokar-rear-parking-brake-cables-black-universal-mustang-1964-1-2-1993/p/PBCR31/ 1 toranav8ss reacted to this
