Northernstang 18 Report post Posted December 23, 2020 Thanks Doug, things are going pretty slow at the moment with Christmas coming and winter here. Temperature here a few mornings ago was -30 Fahrenheit.
WFB 470 0 Report post Posted March 15, 2021 Love the color! Who made the shorty headers? do they only fit the CJ heads? How's the clearance in the car?
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted March 15, 2021 Sanderson headers. They make headers for pretty much any engine if I remember correctly. They are pretty tight. I had to tweak them a bit to clear the steering box and the back of the right side shock tower. Also had to make a custom Z bar for the clutch linkage. 1 RPM reacted to this
TexasEd 180 Report post Posted March 22, 2021 Very sharp looking. It's come a long way.
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted March 23, 2021 Thanks. Hopefully she will be ready for the road by the end of may if the snow is all gone by then.
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted February 19 Hard to believe it has been almost a year since I last posted. Life took a u- turn and my hobbies got put on the back burner. Hopefully this year will be better. Leaking rear engine oil seal turned into complete removal and disassemble. I managed to save the block , just got back from the machine shop 0.040 over. The rest was garbage. So I guess I should have found engine parts and built my own engine in the beginning instead of buying a “built “ engine from a supposedly fe builder. Expensive lesson learned. 1 RPM reacted to this

69RavenConv 284 Report post Posted February 19 Far and away the most frustrating part of the hobby - having to do something twice (or three times, or...)
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted February 19 Well, I personally don’t do repetition very well. So I’m going to build this engine with a little modern touch. Still collecting pieces .what I have so far. 3 RPM, TexasEd and mikee reacted to this
RPM 1,178 Report post Posted February 20 That should lighten her up a bit.
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted February 20 It certainly lightened my wallet lol. The price of parts up here is getting stupid, that’s almost 6500.00 sitting on the floor.
RPM 1,178 Report post Posted February 20 Yikes! Is that why you didn't get an 8 stack injection? :)
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted February 21 Would probably have to take out a second mortgage for that lol.
WFB 470 0 Report post Posted February 21 As a fellow big block Mustang owner, I like it! And this reminds me, I should create a thread on my car. FE valvetrain is complex, be sure to install the oil restrictors in the heads and spring for decent valvetrain. Also, do multiple test fits of the intake to the block heads. Since they all meet - the intake has to match on 3 sides. I just installed a Performer RPM and despite spending almost $700 on the intake, had to grind every bolt hole slightly to align to the heads (also Edelbrock). This problem only gets worse when the block has been decked.
Northernstang 18 Report post Posted March 6 Thanks ,I’m aware of the fe oddities, had a few over the years.
